Work-In-Progress Burger
While more and more Burger places in Berlin offer tasty alternatives to the grotesque imitation food sold at Mickey D and such, Burger de Ville managed to make a big, serious splash with local foodies from the start. With their beautiful retro Airstream sandwiched between the newly opened Waldorf Astoria Hotel and the construction site of the Bikini Berlin (in which the joint will ultimately end up) and situated right in front of the still being refurbished Zoo-Palast cinema, Burger de Ville is offering awesome, locally sourced stuff that will have you come running back for more. The place is keeping it’s simple with a brief, understated menue and a cash-only policy, but whether it’s the excellent burgers made from organic Angus beef from Brandenburg (try the BBQ version, it’s a dream with caramelized onions; yes, there’s a nice veggie burger, too) or the fries with parmesan and spices or a special garlic sauce, it’s all good and not pricey either. So if you need a reason to visit Berlin’s “City West“, drop by and have a bite. You won’t be disappointed. (Souchak)
