Dennis Hopper & His Art Collection
When Dennis Hopper died in 2010, the world lost one of its greatest. He was a filmmaker, actor, writer, artist, an acclaimed photographer and a passionate collector of art. He actually turned to the Fine Arts because even back in the early 60s the studios considered him to be a rather difficult actor to work with. He soon began to shoot for Vogue and other prolific magazines due to his talent to capture very intimate and basically unguarded images of celebrities like Andy Warhol. The art collection he assembled over his lifetime is like a chronology of American pop culture: from Basquiat to Keith Haring, from David Salle to Andy Warhol.
