Wenzel STorch on tour
We're not using the term “scandal“ too often over here at the Bright headquarters, but the fact that German tausendsassa Wenzel Storch still isn't on everybody's radar these days certainly is a major one, since he's one of the most gifted and dedicated filmmakers and auteurs this country has to offer. His films are like psychedelic lucky bags filled with stop-motion-radness, an unconditional love for details and a twisted - well, very twisted - sense of humour.
Berlin based Martin Schmitz Verlag published a long-overdue 336 pages strong book on his work last November, and to celebrate this “Schwarte“ as we Germans like to say, Braunschweig's son of a gun - Wenzel Storch - is going on a reading tour these days, which you really shouldn't miss. Check the tour dates over here. And in case you've never heard of this guy - or simply forgot how insane and one-of-a-kind his oeuvre is - please feel free to treat yourself with the trailers below (sorry, guys... no English subtitles available). (Forty)
