Out Of The Past

Whether you like Martin Scorsese’s modern-day movies or not, you have to respect the man’s passionate, unflinching activism for keeping the world’s cinematic heritage alive. In the 70’s he spear-headed conserving slowly disintegrating film stock, in the 80’s Scorsese fought against the then-popular colorization of old movies, since the early 90’s he’s working with the Film Foundation and World Cinema Foundation to remind people of what movie goodness might easily be forgotten or lost.
