F.U. Reloaded

In the early 90’s, the BBC produced three rather fascinating mini-series following the rise to power of ruthless, scheming British conservative politician Francis Urquhart (expertly played by Ian Richardson). In a way it’s only fitting that this gets transplanted to the US now, courtesy of David Fincher and starring Kevin Spacey as American politico Francis Underwood: The UK production came in the aftermath of the Thatcher years, maybe the americanized version can add some post-Bush insights. “House of Cards“ premieres as Netflix’s first original series on February 1st, mark that date.
